Ukrainian HIMARS targeted a large group of Russian troops in an open field, leading to the deaths of at least 60 soldiers who were waiting for a senior commander. This attack demonstrated that Russia is continuously disregarding simple military rules, yielding fatal consequences.
Additionally, Russia is no stranger to suffering from such operations–Ukraine previously launched a HIMARS attack on Russian units gathered on a beach in August, resulting in 200 casualties and equipment destruction.
This occurrence also serves as a reminder of a similar scenario back in November, when 19 soldiers were killed by Russian missiles at an open-air awards ceremony near the frontline. The same neglect of safety measures has been seen in the past, pointing to Russia’s lack of consideration for these simple rules, and the potentially fatal consequences that result from it.
