X Could Stop Showing Number of Likes and Reposts: Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the CEO of X (formerly Twitter), mentioned that the platform may stop displaying the number of likes and reposts. He expressed his concern that showing these details could make the platform look messy during the Morgan Stanley technology, media, and telecom conference.

This is not the first time Musk has suggested significant changes to X since acquiring it in October 2022. In August, he announced that X would eliminate article headlines for links posted on the platform to improve aesthetics. After implementing this change in October, Musk later reversed his decision and stated that article titles would be displayed on the upper portion of the image of a URL card, not taking up extra vertical pixels.

When a user teased him for changing his mind, Musk clarified his decision on Twitter. However, representatives for Musk did not respond to Business Insider’s request for comment outside regular business hours.
