Nigeria’s D’Tigers faced another setback at the AfroBasket 2025 qualifiers as they were defeated by Uganda with a score of 72-62 in their second Group B match on Saturday, February 24.
Previously, Nigeria had suffered a loss to Libya with a score of 89-82 in their opening game.
Despite only having nine players on the court, just like in their previous match against Libya, D’Tigers were unable to secure a win against Uganda.
Uganda dominated the game by winning all four quarters. They took the lead in the first quarter with a score of 12-7 and continued their dominance in the second quarter with a score of 29-19.
In the third quarter, Uganda maintained their lead with 55 points to D’Tigers’ 44, ultimately finishing with a final score of 72-62.
D’Tigers will wrap up the first qualifying window by facing Cape Verde on Sunday.
