The Edo State Police Command recently apprehended a driver, Ambrose Christopher, for being in possession of illegal arms and ammunition. The arrest took place in Ekpoma after the police received a tip-off from the public. Ambrose, 24, was driving a Mercedes Benz GLK at the time of his arrest.
According to SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesman for the command, the anti-kidnapping and cybercrime unit in Edo Central, led by ASP Edobor Friday, intercepted Ambrose’s vehicle along Ewu-Ekpoma-Auchi Road. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a beret pistol along with 13 rounds of live ammunition.
Currently, Ambrose is cooperating with the police in their investigation and is expected to face charges in court soon. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of public cooperation in maintaining law and order in the community.
