A man who fatally stabbed his ex-girlfriend’s new partner has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder. Daniel Balazs, 21, attacked the father-of-two, Daniel Micska, in the street last August, plunging a 12cm knife into his chest. After the attack, Balazs fled to London but later turned himself in. He was found guilty by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court and sentenced to a minimum of 20 years. In a statement, the victim’s family expressed their grief and thanked those involved in bringing justice for their brother. They said Daniel will be greatly missed and forever in their thoughts.
