LinkedIn restores service after global outage

LinkedIn is now back up and running for users after experiencing a global outage that prevented access to accounts. The issue affected users worldwide, including those in the U.S. and UK, with over 48,000 reports of problems on Downdetector.

If you were running ad campaigns on LinkedIn during the outage, you may have noticed a decrease in reach, engagement, and conversions. When attempting to access the site, many users encountered an error message instructing them to go back to the previous page or visit the Help Center for more information.

The problem was first investigated by LinkedIn at 4.25pm ET on March 6 and services were fully restored by around 4.45pm ET. According to LinkedIn, the issue was related to the LinkedIn API developer platform and caused unexpected failures in API requests. They are actively working on resolving the problem.
